Welcome to The Yew Tree Inn Website

Whether visiting the area for a day out or staying nearby on business or pleasure, The Yew Tree offers something for everyone with a menu that is as diverse as it is appealing. The setting too is idyllic, amidst rural Lancashire countryside with views that stretch for miles. This area has long been popular with walkers, sightseers and nature lovers alike, as well as those seeking a little haven of calm.

This beautiful stone cottage houses so much more than just an exceptional menu. The welcome is warm, the service impeccable, yet friendly, the atmosphere both historic and comfortable. The outside area offers the opportunity to enjoy summer days in a tranquil setting whilst dining and drinking at your leisure.

The Yew Tree has been part of the local community for many years and dates back to 1871 when the then owner John Berry converted Dill Hall Cottages into an Inn . He did this to serve the many reservoir and quarry workers in the area at that time. The weighbridge for the paving stones, made at the quarry nearby, was installed at the Yew Tree and the paving stones were then transported down to Adlington railway station some 2 miles away. This was a shrewd business move by Mr. Berry as the Yew Tree flourished from both the reservoir workers and quarrymen desirous of quenching their thirst.

The Yew Tree has been a country pub and restaurant now for many years and welcomes visitors back time and time again. The menu's are designed to make the mouth water and have something for everyone.
